With the increasing shifting demographics in higher education, colleges and universities must be prepared to engage in equitable practices that foster persistence and success for all groups, but most critically, Latinx/a/o student, faculty, and administrator populations. This presentation seeks to highlight major national and local issues that disproportionately hinder access to senior leadership roles for traditionally and historically underrepresented faculty and administrators.

The Qualitative Research Interest Group (QRIG) is a working group of faculty and graduate students who use qualitative methods in their research. Central to the work of QRIG is a focus on the intersectional dimensions of inequality and a commitment to racial and class equity and social justice. QRIG seeks to raise the profile of mixed qualitative methodologies as an important component of a research design in order to capture the lived experiences of understudied populations.
