Frequently Asked Questions

When does the Institute take place?

IQRMI is held annually the first week of June. In 2017, the Institute runs from June 4th through June 9th.

Where is the Institute?

The Institute takes place on University of Maryland's College Park campus, near Washington, DC. Sessions and activities are held in campus buildings.

What does it cost?

The cost of participating in the Institute is $1,700, which includes lodging and meals (breakfast, lunch, and snacks). The cost of a University of Maryland parking permit is $70 and is not included in the cost of the Institute. After participants have been chosen, they will be sent a link to an online payment system where they can submit registration payment. A parking permit can be included in the same online payment system. Permits will be available for pick-up when participants arrive on campus. CRGE encourages applicants to seek and obtain approval for institutional funding early in the application process.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Due to the careful planning and coordination of IQRMI speakers and activities, CRGE cannot refund registration fees in the event a participant cancels. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Can I reduce the fee if I don't stay with the IQRMI?

No. The fee is the same regardless of where you stay due to the costs incurred from coordinating the Institute such as lodging and meal contracts, speaker fees, printing costs, and AV/tech and room charges. Due to the nature of the Institute, we encourage all participants to stay on campus in order to gain a full and enriching experience that includes networking and social activities that occur before and after the Institute activities for each day.

Participants are housed on campus in residence hall suites similar to Prince Frederick Hall. Each semi-suite contains two bedrooms with a shared bathroom between them. Bedrooms contain a regular twin-size bed, desk, chair, and dresser for each person. Bed linens, pillows, towels, shower curtains, and toilet paper are provided, but personal care items such as soap and hair dryers are not. Each floor of the residence hall has two lounge areas, a trash/recycling/compost room, and a laundry room with credit card-operated washers and dryers. There is also a full kitchen in the building and a barbecue area just outside. Wireless internet access is provided throughout campus.

Photos of the IQRMI meeting and lodging space can be viewed on the CRGE Facebook page. The address of Prince Frederick Hall is 7030 Preinkert Dr., College Park, MD 20742.
